Havre Hosting May Tourism & Brand Workshop

May 14, 2012

Havre is the fourth community to be hosting the Montana Office of Tourism’s (MTOT) tourism and brand workshop. The free workshops are an outreach effort to assist communities in bolstering their ability to attract and retain visitors to their area.

The workshop is scheduled for May 23 & 24 at the Townhouse Inn of Havre. It will be held 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on May 23 and 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on May 24. There is no cost to attend, however for planning purposes, interested participants are requested to pre-register for the workshop. Please RSVP to Carmen Levick at MTOT at (406) 841-2873 or at j.mp/havreregistration.

Gold West Workshop Breakout Session

The workshops are conducted during two partial day sessions. The first 3-hour workshop on Wednesday will include an overview of MTOT’s efforts in supporting and promoting tourism both statewide as well as in North Central Montana, in addition to brainstorming sessions to discuss how the Havre-area can draw more visitors annually. The follow-up 2-hour workshop on Thursday will provide MTOT an opportunity to share recommendations on how best to foster tourism in the area garnered in part from input provided at the first workshop. In addition, the second workshop will include a recap of the MTOT road trip of the area undertaken earlier in the week.

The Montana Office of Tourism plans to continue to bring the workshop to areas throughout the state, customizing the content gathering and brainstorming session to each location. Please contact Pam Gosink at pgosink@mt.gov if your community is interested in the team coming to your town to work together to “Expand Montana’s Tourism Story”.
